Fleur de force Eyelure lashes - Fleur Loves

FOTD: Fleur Loves lashes, Revolution eyeshadow palette, Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pink Gold, Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara, Topshop Magic Liner in Engraved, Revlon Colorburst matte balm in Shameless.

This is my first time trying false eyelashes and I had no doubt that Eyelure was the best place to start. I've never been particularly bothered about falsies as my natural lashes are pretty long, but when I saw Fleur had brought out her own range, I just couldn't resist. The 3/4 length is absolutely perfect for me, no trimming required! And they add just the right amount of extra volume to make the most of my own lashes. This was just my practice run, but I was dead impressed with how easy they are to apply. I used tweezers to help me put them in place and hold them down, they're certainly secure enough for all day wear.

I'm so excited to wear these out and I'll definitely be looking into more of Eyelure's range/buying them all!

I've still got a lot to learn makeup wise, but I'm really enjoying experimenting and moving away from my everyday routine.
P.S: Please ignore my horrific pores and not-so-perfectly straight eyeliner ;)

Pink party dress

Maybelline Color Show 60 seconds in Pink Party dress

I absolutely adore how simply super sparkly this is! Shown with 2 coats, I find the glitter builds really easily and it lasts at least a week without chipping much. I'll definitely be trying some of the other glitter colours in this range

Are tech and fashion followers poles apart?

"Google glass with its sci-fi aesthetics"
With an increasingly technological world, huge technology companies such as Apple, Microsoft and Google bring out shiny new devices seemingly every week. The danger of its impersonal and cult type appeal pushes many fashion fanatics to the opposite end of the spectrum. Justin Cooke, former Topshop marketing chief and former Vice president of Burberry PR, argues in Ami Sedghi's article for the Guardian; "Fashion [is] too scared to innovate with tech." Cooke sees the opportunities lost to increase audience through partnerships with those like Google seen in London's biannual London Fashion week.

And far from unpassionate, technology offers options for sought after personalisation. Cooke's opinion is supported by wearable devices, where fashion and technology collide and take off if created with an eye for fashion. For example, Google glass with its sci-fi aesthetics.
But far from shaking in its boots as suggested in Ami's article, fashion embraces movement towards tech with Decoded fashion, a global forum for fashion and technology. Though its possible that big companies will not lead this revolution, but more likely designers will work with specialised technology start-ups. So whilst I agree with Cooke, technology used by fashion brands is vital to get quick and easy feedback from customers through social media, but this has not gone amiss, even traditional brands are utilising these avenues with facebook pages, instagram accounts and fully interactive webpages. Fashion is now more international than ever and it has technology to thank.

With both industries relying heavily on trend-forecasting aided by social media, is this a match made in heaven?

Badly Torn maybe

Jacket: New Look (old) | Top: New Look (old) | Jeans: Topshop | Flats: New Look
Very coincidently this outfit is mostly New Look, which believe it or not is actually somewhere I don't shop very often. I have worn this top SO many times, and these flats were a major bargain in the summer sale at £4! But my favourite part of this outfit is the ripped jeans, these were my little treat to myself after results day. I'm sorry you can't actually see the rips in these shots, however, I really do love Topshop's Leigh super soft ankle grazers, perfect for those with shorter legs (despite these still bunching up a tad) and majorly comfortable. A perfect daytime outfit, warm enough for the breezy early autumn and with a memorial to summer through pineapples.

To cross a body of water

Top: Dorothy Perkins | Shirt: Topshop | Skirt: Vintage | Sandals: Dorothy Perkins | Necklace: River Island | Nail Varnish: Barry M Bikini | Nail varnish (toes): Barry M Gelly nail effects Rose Hip.
My trusty summer sandals making another appearance, this time with a more complimentary nail colour, rather than a pop of colour like usual. A quick trip on the ferry from Instow to Appledore called for a very casual outfit and whilst it was windy and I was splashed, it was a peaceful journey overall. I picked up this skirt from the clothes show around Christmas time from a small stall that had handmade skirts and other vintage bits and pieces. The texture adds a little to a boring outfit and the light green suits both summer and winter wear. Though the Devon villages and towns I visited were lovely, the highlight had to be a small "petting zoo" with rabbits, guinea pigs, chicks, chipmunks, kittens, puppies and calves...I was in pure heaven! One little bunny decided to have a quick nap on my lap and luckily he/she didn't pee on my new jeans (outfit post to come soon ;))

The marvels of our setting sun never fails to spur the inner photographer.
The peace and quiet of Instow also gave me some time to think over all the changes coming my way soon. The 14th of August finally gave me confirmation that everything I worked for over the past two years was worth it. There were a lot of tears and headaches, not to mention a sob or two, but I got into my university of choice on a Fashion management course and I'm so so excited to face the challenge ahead. I had a huge change of heart in my first year of A-levels from aiming to be a veterinary nurse to a career in fashion and I really didn't know if it was the right choice for me (and I still don't!) but I can't bear the thought of giving up on it without trying. I move in to my accommodation on the 19th of September which is approaching like a bullet train, and I'm going to be thrown completely out of my comfort zone. Here's to hoping I land somewhere even better.
I'll be continuing my blog along my journey, a huge thankyou to everyone sticking with me for the ride x

South West England: Runners and Raglan

Top: Topshop | Shorts: Topshop | Sandals: Dorothy Perkins
I'm back from holidaying in the quaint seaside village of Instow in Devon and its been killing me not to blog whilst being without wifi :'( This relaxed outfit was a much loved repeat wear I'm not afraid to admit, I fell in love with runner shorts this summer and these denim effect ones are super easy to pair with anything! My second love has been my bargain footbed sandals that have near lived on my feet, adding a bit of femininity with the floral print. My final obsession is raglan tops, given the chance I would have one in every colour, but for now, simple black with 3/4 sleeves completes this oober casual outfit.
Excuse the windswept/blinded by the sun me, but look how pretty and peaceful it looks.
