To complicate simplicity

Top: H&M, Skirt: Topshop, Shoes: Toms, Glasses: Gok wan for Specsavers, Lipstick: Collection 2000 in Queen of Hearts
A lazy look for me, re-featuring some of my most loved items to wear :) Even sporting my glasses for a change, I do wear them a lot more often nowadays as my eyesight is simply shocking! Also, looking positively moody in the second photo, but of course the outfit is far more important ;) Despite all this I think the stripes and denim combined leave it with a "cool simplicity" feel, whilst a high waisted skater skirt stops it from looking too boyish, for those that prefer a bit more femininity.

Or can they?

Top: New Look, Skirt: Zara, Boots: Topshop, Lipstick: Topshop in Innocent, Nail varnish: Maybelline Forever strong in Lilac charm (240)
Ooooh so girly! I actually fell in love with this skirt some time ago, but I find it so hard to wear. That is until this ensemble popped into mind :) Lighthearted and soft in texture with a little edge added by the boots, clashing in a harsher patent texture. The velvet lettering is what really wins it for me with this top, though it is actually an oversized crop top, still certainly a treasured item of mine. Finished off with a ballerina-esque high bun.

Nourish me truly

It takes something special to impress me when it comes to shampoo and conditioner, especially compared to my beloved Tresemme, and this certainly has :) I tried this out as my sister had used it and products aimed at "damaged hair" attract me as my hair gets split ends so easily! They both contain a lot of essential oils, designed to leave your hair "luxurious to the touch", which have actually left my hair really soft afterwards. The cashmere keratin contained within these will have been one of the main contributors I would presume. Also, the fragrance isn't noticeably strong, which is either a plus or a negative depending on personal preference, personally as long as it does the job otherwise I'm not hugely fussed. The only thing that I would mark it down on is the longevity of its effects, I have found that I will have to wash my hair everyday if using this product, which I usually prefer to do anyway (Not ideal I know!), but this could be an important factor for others.

Overall, very impressive, I'll certainly be delving into more VO5 products in future.

A big cat, a feline

Top: H&M, shorts: TKmaxx, shoes: Converse.
I don't know why, but I instantly fell in love with this top as soon as I saw it. Perfectly baggy, light and with a boyish charm. Also, being simple black and white, it fits into my wardrobe without a fuss and the velvet panther emblem makes it a little more special. H&M has really impressed me lately and their prices are always pleasing on the eye, definitely check it out!
Pairing a newbie top with some real oldies, these shorts have been well used and loved, they are easy to wear and will be worn for many summer days to come. Then, my converse are just the same, have had them for years yet they are still looking spick-and-span. Overall, I really enjoyed this outfit, recently baseball tops have picked up in popularity and I'm all for it :)
Nail varnish: Essie in 'muchi muchi'

Oops a daisy!

Top: Topshop, Playsuit: Select.
I love how comfortable this playsuit is, and the daisy and polka dot print is adorable. The crop top compliments it perfectly, creating a nice balance between baggy/comfortable clothing that is still flattering on the body shape. Blue and green are easy to pair together and the white print elements stand out and scream summer.

Finishing off with a final white daisy print on my nails (once again courtesy of my sister) using black nail polish from Fearne Cotton's range for Boots for the base. The pigment is brilliant using this range.

State of grace

Glam' eyes quad eye shadow: 021 state of grace
L'Oreal volume million lashes excess noir in extra-black
Barry M lip paint in 132 Pinkie gold sparkle
Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner in Black

I was happy with the affordability and usability of my neutral Glam' eyes Rimmel eyeshadow palette, and I couldn't wait to try out another shade range. I'm no make up guru, but I've found these palettes to be really easy and simple for make up dummy's like me. A pretty quadruplet of shadows with lots of shimmer. I think the flash of the camera brings out the true colours much better, the natural light photos doesn't give it enough justice. I used the purple for the base, applying it slightly darker in the crease and with blue over the brow bone. Finishing off with the silver from the inner corners of the eye and using a blending brush to bring the colours together. The mascara is also new, I've been impressed so far with the length and definition it gives, though my eyelashes were a bit wild today anyway! I'm actually not a huge fan of the lipstick I used for this look, I feel something matte would have suited it better.
